The Legal Counsel role is the cornerstone for legal service and will provide the credibility, experience and technical legal know-how for the IVL Businesses in the EMEA region (“Region”). He/she is responsible for providing the legal support to IVL Businesses in the Region. The Legal Counsel will have broad legal understanding across multiple legal disciplines, combined with commercial and business understanding. Personal skills are critical, the Legal Counsel must be able to be simultaneously independent, speak with credibility and be able to coach senior business and legal management, legal peers.
Tasks
Key responsibilities
- Providing legal and strategic advice on commercial and corporate matters, including policy matters for complex projects and transactions.
- Drafting, negotiation and providing advice on a broad spectrum of commercial agreements with customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Providing ad-hoc legal questions across cross-border.

Develop and implement distinctive mindset, behaviour and culture to achieve high work performance by adoption and implementation of value interventions, tools and methodologies. Support reporting requirements to monitor litigation and compliance issues across the Region. Drive the highest level of integrity and business ethics. - Good Governance:
Enforce the implementation of applicable IVL procedures and guidelines and affect the compliance to statutory and legislative requirements to safeguard IVL interest, image and reputation for business transactions. - Networking and Relationship:
Building Foster and sustain effective working relationships and rapport within the IVL worldwide legal organization. - Legal Organization Management Accountabilities:
Focus on a broad range of legal matters, from compliance, contract drafting and review, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property development and protection, commercial negotiations, corporate governance, securities law, employment matters and litigation. Provide quality services, incorporating best-known practices, using innovative, environmentally conscious and cost-effective strategies. Ability to work independently and manage multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
About you
- At least 5+ years working experience, preferably in the petrochemical industry
- Any recognized law degree (JD, LLB, etc.)
- You are fluent in English (this is a must-have requirement)
- Prior experience in an international law firm would be an advantage
